Southern Schools

Hello, I am Valerie Barnhart. I live in Lincoln with my husband Randy. I love to reading and write. As a former student at Southern, I enjoy teaching in my alma mater because of the people in the Southern community and the relationships that I have developed with them. I attended college at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. Go Huskers! I have a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane College in Crete, NE. I am passionate about English because the skills will enable my students to be better communicators in their life after school. In English, we focus on reading, writing, grammar, speaking, and listening. All of these are life-long skills to improve throughout life. Other activities that I enjoy include swimming, gardening, and having fun with family and friends.
