6th-grade students experimented with the ESU5 science guys that helped them understand how doctors repair broken bones. Students used a pencil to demonstrate a break, and then they had to use materials to repair it. Students learned if their repair was successful by seeing how much weight their pencil could handle afterward. The highest amount of weight that a group's repair could hold was 15 pounds. The lowest amount was 1 pound.
